21!!!!!

The big 21!

First and foremost....happy fucking birthday to myself. hah I'm finally 21 and I couldn't be much happier spending my b day in Aussie. The tight and bright party was out of control...plenty of neon and glow-sticks everywhere. Needless to say, I got pretty drunk last night and got plenty of birthday wishes and promises of drinks and shots for tonight's extravaganza.  I ended my night early (probably like 130) because some locals i met promised me a morning surf sesh.

So, i started off my first day as a twenty one year old at 7am local time....to a sunny, 85 degree day. I went surfing at Snapper Rocks and no other than Dean Morrison (pro surfer for those who don't know who that is) rolls up to the parking lot. So with Dean "The Dingo," prolly 100 other local Aussie rippers, Derek, and my two new mates, Greg and Will, I experienced my first Gold Coast surf sesh. It was pretty insane. Fairly big and kinda gnarly, but super fun...that point is jagged rock with waves raging up against it and the current ripping past....no training wheels for my first Aussie surf encounter, but the waves here are so fun, and reel down the point. I'm stoked to spend my next 4 months in the water here.

Its weird turning 21 in a country where the drinking age is only 18, like I said...but i honestly love it here and wouldn't really wanna be anywhere else. It would have been nice to spend it with my friends and family, and you are all missed....on that note, you all owe me a drink when I get home....much love.

As for the rest of my birthday, well....we shall see what happens. Theres no doubt that there will be plenty of drinks consumed....go big or go home.
